The Russian-Ukrainian talks in Istanbul began with a delay of almost two hours. In addition to the delegations of the Russian Federation and Ukraine, the Turkish delegation is taking part in the negotiations. It includes the head of the Foreign Ministry, the head of intelligence, and the chief of the General Staff, TASS reports, citing its source in the Turkish Foreign Ministry.
Thus, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan told the negotiators that "very important steps" had been taken during the previous meeting between Russia and Ukraine on May 16. During the second round of negotiations, it is planned to discuss a meeting of the leaders of the two countries, as well as a cease-fire.
