### Ruble Strengthens by 0.7% Against Currency Basket on Monday On the interbank market on Monday, the following dynamics are observed: the ruble-to-Chinese yuan (CNY/RUB) exchange rate is trading at 12.29 rubles per yuan. The ruble-dollar (USD/RUB) pair is trading at 82.90 rubles per U.S. dollar. It is worth noting that the Bank of Russia (Central Bank of Russia) has established official exchange rates for currencies against the ruble based on consolidated data from both exchange and over-the-counter segments of the foreign exchange market since December 27, 2024. This change, outlined in Bank of Russia Instruction No. 6956-U, aims to enhance the representativeness of official rates given the increasing volume of over-the-counter transactions. Since June 8, 2026, the Bank of Russia has modified the calculation of the official euro-to-ruble (EUR/RUB) exchange rate. Instead of relying on direct quotes for the EUR/RUB pair, the Bank now calculates the rate using a cross-currency formula: EUR/RUB = USD/RUB × EUR/USD (based on data from the European Central Bank). This overview was prepared by Alexei Grishchenko, Doctor of Economics, Professor at the Department of Operational and Sectoral Management of the Higher School of Management at the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation.
