Putin Approves Sale of Russian Western Union Subsidiary to Softex

Russian company Softex has received approval to acquire the Russian subsidiary of Western Union. The decision was signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin and published on the website of legal acts.

According to the decree, Softex will be able to acquire 100% of the shares in the authorized capital of NKO Western Union DP Vostok (a Russian payment system operator).

Western Union suspended its operations in Russia in 2022, and at the same time, its Russian subsidiary Western Union DP Vostok was removed from the register of payment system operators.
