Train fares for platzkart and general compartments to rise by 9.2%

Starting October 1, Russia will see a 9.2% increase in fares for seated and open-plan carriages (platskart and obshchy vagon) on long-distance trains, according to the Russian Association of Tour Operators (ATOR).

The fare adjustment will also apply to luggage transportation.

However, the price hike will not affect ticket prices for couchette (kupe) and sleeper (SV) carriages, as their fares are set independently by carriers.
