### Russian Defense Ministry Reports Massive Drone and Cruise Missile Attack Over Two Days
The Russian Defense Ministry announced that it had successfully repelled a large-scale attack on Russian regions over September 19-20. According to the ministry, the attack involved unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and long-range cruise missiles known as "Flamingo."
In a statement, the ministry reported that Russian air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 1,951 strike drones and eight long-range cruise missiles within 24 hours. Another missile deviated from its course and crashed in an uninhabited area.
The ministry emphasized that all "Flamingo" cruise missiles launched toward civilian targets in the Moscow region were intercepted before reaching their intended destinations. It added that the massive attack on Moscow did not achieve its objectives.
Defending against the aerial assault involved personnel from anti-aircraft missile systems, mobile fire groups, and crews from fighter and army aviation units.
