OAK aims to finalize SJ-100 production localization deal in India by year-end

India plans to localize production of Superjet aircraft. A corresponding licensing agreement may be signed by the end of this year, said the CEO of United Aircraft Corporation (UAC, part of Rostec) Vadim Badekha at the Innoprom.India forum.

According to him, UAC has almost finalized its choice of partner, with Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) expected to take on the production of SJ-100 aircraft in India.

"We have a local partner - HAL, with whom we already produce Su-30 and MiG-29 aircraft here. I think that by the end of the year we will sign a firm licensing agreement with them, there is a very high level of preparation. I think we will conclude the deal in the very near future," Badekha was quoted as saying by Interfax.

He did not rule out that the production of SJ-100 in India could be established in the format of a joint venture with Indian control.
