Belgian car designer Leclerc granted Russian citizenship

Belgian automotive designer Pierre Leclercq has become a citizen of Russia, according to a decree signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin and published on the official legal information website.

Under Russian law, Leclercq must take an oath of allegiance within one year of acquiring citizenship; otherwise, the procedure will be deemed invalid.

Leclercq has collaborated with numerous automotive manufacturers over the years, designing for brands such as Alfa Romeo, Ferrari, Maserati, Aston Martin, Lamborghini, Ford, BMW, Great Wall Motors, Kia Motors, and Citroën.
