The Russian government has imposed a complete ban on diesel fuel exports. The new restrictions apply to all market participants and are aimed at increasing fuel supplies within the country.

The decision was announced by Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak during a meeting between the President and government members. According to him, the ban will help ensure additional volumes of diesel fuel for the domestic market.

Previously, restrictions were only in place for companies that were not fuel producers. Now, exports are also prohibited for the producers themselves, effectively halting all diesel exports abroad.

However, an exception remains for deliveries made under intergovernmental agreements. Such export contracts will continue to be executed as usual.

The government hopes that these new measures will help stabilize the situation on the domestic market and prevent a possible diesel fuel shortage.
