An attack on visitors and staff of a multi-service center located in the West Mall shopping center in Krasnodar has left one woman dead and several others injured, according to Russian investigative outlet "Baza".
Witnesses report that a young man entered the mall and began behaving aggressively, apparently searching for a specific individual. He then got into a confrontation with a security guard before attacking people nearby.
Among the victims are employees of the multi-service center, including security personnel. One guard sustained a hand injury, another suffered a thigh wound. Several visitors also required medical assistance and were taken to hospitals.
Preliminary information indicates that the fatal victim was a woman in her mid-30s who died at the scene from severe injuries before medical help arrived.
Before police arrived, witnesses and mall visitors managed to subdue the attacker, who was later handed over to law enforcement. The assailant is reported to be 19 years old.
There are also reports that a homemade device may have been activated during the incident, causing smoke to fill parts of the mall. This information is being verified by authorities.
Following the attack, the mall area was cordoned off. Investigators are reviewing CCTV footage and gathering evidence to determine the exact circumstances and motives behind the attack. Official details on the final number of victims and the attacker’s motives are still being confirmed.
