Universal QR code for cashless payments at checkouts to be introduced in Russia in September

Starting September 1, Russia will introduce a unified universal QR code for cashless payments at store and cafe checkouts, according to TASS.

Currently, various banks offer their own QR codes for payments, but the new universal code aims to replace them. The National Payment Card System (NSPK) will operate the new system.
