### Ruble Slips Against Currency Basket by 1% on Monday
On the interbank market on Monday, the following dynamics are observed: the ruble to Chinese yuan (CNY/RUB) is trading at 10.82 rubles per yuan.
The ruble against the dollar (USD/RUB) is at 74.82 rubles per US dollar, while the euro-ruble (EUR/RUB) is trading at 85.65 rubles per euro.
It is worth noting that the Bank of Russia, starting from December 27, 2024, sets official exchange rates of foreign currencies against the ruble based on consolidated data from both exchange and over-the-counter segments of the foreign exchange market. This measure, introduced under Bank of Russia Regulation No. 6956-U, aims to enhance the representativeness of official rates amid the growing volume of off-exchange transactions.
From June 8, 2026, the Bank of Russia changed the calculation method for the official euro-ruble exchange rate. Instead of using direct quotes for EUR/RUB transactions, the Bank now calculates the rate through a cross-currency formula using data from the European Central Bank (ECB). The new methodology works as follows: EUR/RUB = USD/RUB × EUR/USD (based on ECB data).
