Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin has emphasized that the small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) sector remains one of the key drivers of regional economic development and improving service quality for citizens. According to him, SMEs are actively shaping new opportunities in service, manufacturing, and creative industries.

Government data shows that the number of SME entities in the country has reached 7 million, with over 19 million people employed in this sector.

Since the beginning of the year, approximately 1.5 million new legal entities and individual entrepreneurs have been registered in Russia. This figure is 4.2% higher than the same period last year.

Authorities are also noting a shift in the structure of entrepreneurial activity. An increasing number of companies and entrepreneurs are now engaged in manufacturing, information technology, and the creative economy. As Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak pointed out, a significant portion of subsidized lending through the umbrella guarantee mechanism is now directed towards processing industry enterprises.

Separately, the government highlighted the results of the national project "Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises." Since its launch, more than 5 million Russian entrepreneurs have benefited from various support measures.
