The Russian government has approved a plan of action to implement the Road Safety Strategy for the next 10 years. During this period, particular attention will be paid to expanding the backbone network and modernizing infrastructure. This includes building bypass roads around cities to relieve them of transit traffic and optimizing logistics routes.

Among the priority areas of work are increasing the number of road lanes, constructing interchanges and overpasses, including pedestrian bridges over railway tracks. These measures will help reduce accidents and improve the reliability of passenger and cargo delivery.

As part of enhancing road safety, modern digital tools will be introduced. Artificial intelligence will be entrusted with identifying potentially hazardous road sections.

The Ministry of Transport, Ministry of Industry and Trade, Ministry of Health, and other relevant agencies have been tasked with monitoring the timelines for all planned activities.
