Russia has extended a temporary ban on the export of precious metal waste and scrap. The government has prolonged the measure for another six months, from June 1 to November 30, 2026.
Under the current restrictions, Russia prohibits the export of waste and scrap not only of precious metals but also of metals plated with precious metals. Additionally, the export of waste and scrap from electrical and electronic products used for extracting precious metals has been suspended. The ban does not apply to the export of antimony cathodes in ingots, as well as samples taken from batches of precious metal scrap and waste by refining organizations (affineurs).
