In April, the average price of a new passenger car in Russia reached 3.36 million rubles ($43,000). This represents a 6% increase compared to the same period last year, according to data from Autostat cited by TASS.
However, compared to the previous month, the average cost of a passenger car decreased by 5%. Market experts attribute this trend to a decline in sales of premium vehicles and an increase in demand for more affordable brands such as Lada, Haval, and Tenet (the latter two are Chinese brands popular in Russia).
Meanwhile, the average price of used cars rose to 1.21 million rubles ($15,600). Year-on-year, this figure also increased by 6%, while month-on-month there was no change in prices.
