### Russian Government Updates Driving License Examination Process
The Russian government has updated the procedure for taking driving license exams, affecting timeframes, grounds for nullifying results, and requirements for medical documentation.
Under the new rules, the practical driving test must be completed within 60 days of passing the theory exam. If a candidate fails to meet this deadline within six months, they will have to retake the theory exam. Another attempt will be available within 30 days after this period ends.
However, the deadlines can be adjusted upon request if the applicant submits a relevant application to the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate (GIBDD).
The list of violations that can lead to the termination of an exam and the annulment of its results has been significantly expanded. Using any communication devices, photo, video, or audio equipment, electronic devices, reference materials, or other information carriers is now strictly prohibited. In case of annulment, the candidate will have to wait a year before retaking the exam.
Medical documentation requirements have also been modified. Starting March 1, 2027, candidates will no longer need to submit a paper medical certificate if their medical examination data is already recorded in the electronic healthcare system. This change is part of the ongoing transition to digital document circulation.
