Firefighters Battle Blaze at Tuapse Sea Terminal After Nighttime Drone Strike

According to the emergency operations headquarters of Krasnodar Krai, a fire broke out at a maritime terminal in Tuapse during the night of May 1st. The alert was raised at 2:26 am. It has been clarified that the fire was caused by an attack involving unmanned aerial vehicles (drones).
Preliminary reports indicate that there were no casualties. Emergency services, including units from the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MChS), are on the scene. A total of 128 specialists and 41 pieces of equipment have been deployed to contain the fire, which is still being extinguished.
Concurrently, efforts are underway to clean up the spill of petroleum products. More than 13,000 cubic meters of contaminated soil, fuel oil, and oil-water mixture have already been collected and removed from three affected areas.
The total number of personnel and equipment involved in addressing the emergency has been increased to 790 people and 48 units of machinery.
Sergey Boyko, the head of the municipality, reported that some residents who were evacuated from nearby homes during the firefighting efforts at the oil refining facility have been temporarily accommodated in city hotels. Currently, 85 people remain in these temporary shelters.
