Government Prepares Reform of General Plans and Land Use Regulations Change Conditions

The Russian government has drafted amendments to the Town Planning Code aimed at establishing uniform rules and timelines for making changes to general plans and land use regulations in municipalities.

The proposed legislative changes are intended to streamline the procedures for adjusting urban planning documents. Currently, such processes are often delayed due to the lack of clear deadlines and unified approaches.

The new regulations are expected to introduce a more transparent mechanism for making amendments and reduce the time required for approvals.

According to Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, this will help expedite the launch and implementation of construction and renovation projects that are in high demand among residents. Additionally, it is anticipated that simplified procedures will enhance the investment attractiveness of regions and provide an additional boost to infrastructure development.
