In 2025, the government reported an increase in freight traffic through road border crossing points. A total of 107 border checkpoints saw a 6% rise in freight vehicles compared to 2024.
The most significant growth was recorded on the Russia-China border section, where the volume of freight traffic increased by 26% over the year. This increase is attributed to intensified trade and expanded logistics routes between the two countries.
During the meeting, special attention was given to a pilot project being implemented at the "Tagirkent" - "Kazmary" road border crossing point. The project aims to speed up control procedures and reduce freight vehicle inspection time to 10 minutes.
It is expected that after the testing phase is completed, the technological and organizational solutions used will be scaled up. By 2030, they are planned to be implemented in 55 of the busiest and strategically important road border crossing points.
