U.S. President Donald Trump announced an increase in previously imposed universal import tariffs, raising them from 10% to 15%. The announcement was made on his social media platform Truth Social.

According to the President, the decision was made in response to a court ruling and takes effect immediately. The global tariff applies to products from all countries.

Trump emphasized that he considers the new tariff level to be "fully acceptable and legally sound." He also stated that for decades, many countries have, in his view, benefited at the expense of the United States, and the current measure aims to restore balance in international trade.
