Most Russian regions have already embarked on large-scale digital transformation and are actively applying artificial intelligence (AI) technologies in their daily operations.

On the "Digital Region" portal, 55 regions have presented their own best practices for effective use of AI. The platform aggregates the most successful solutions, which undergo expert evaluation at the AI Development Center under the Government. After verification, these tools become available for replication in other regions of the country. Currently, the database contains around 350 projects ranging from urban management to utilities and transport infrastructure.

The Government highlighted several regional cases:

Chelyabinsk Region has implemented an AI-based road traffic analysis system. Algorithms monitor traffic congestion, detect accidents and traffic jams. As a result, the average time drivers spend in traffic jams has been reduced by more than half.

Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug uses AI to monitor heated bus stops. The system detects violations and automatically triggers voice warnings through loudspeakers. This has reduced the number of incidents, such as smoking and alcohol consumption, by 35%, and halved the number of complaints from residents.

Belgorod Region employs intelligent algorithms to predict planned and emergency water supply disruptions. This has sped up repair work: the number of repairs taking more than 8 hours has decreased by 23%.

Authorities plan to continue using AI technologies as a practical management tool to enhance infrastructure efficiency.
