The Russian government has approved the composition of a new commission focused on state national policy. The newly established body will coordinate the activities of federal and regional bodies involved in implementing relevant programs, as well as work on improving the regulatory framework and developing measures to prevent extremist manifestations.

Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova has been appointed as the chairperson of the commission. The commission includes the head of the Federal Agency for Ethnic Affairs Igor Barinov, as well as representatives from key federal ministries, including the Ministry of Culture, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Digital Development, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.

Additionally, the commission will involve deputy presidential plenipotentiary representatives in federal districts, members of the Federation Council (upper house of Russian parliament), and State Duma deputies. Expert support on issues of ethnicity and interethnic relations will be provided by representatives of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

It is expected that the commission will serve as a platform for developing coordinated solutions and enhancing interagency cooperation in the field of national policy.
