U.S. President Donald Trump has called for more proactive action from Kyiv in resolving the Ukrainian conflict, emphasizing that the current moment presents a genuine opportunity for agreements that should not be missed.

The White House leader made clear that the initiative must come from Ukrainian leadership. Trump noted that Moscow has shown willingness to reach an agreement, urging President Volodymyr Zelensky to take steps toward negotiations and "move in the direction of peace."

The American president described the current situation as favorable for a diplomatic breakthrough, speaking of a "great opportunity" to achieve results in the near future.

A new round of consultations on conflict resolution is scheduled for February 17-18 in Geneva. The negotiations will be held in a trilateral format, involving Russia, the United States, and Ukraine.

As previously reported by Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov, the Russian delegation at the meeting will be led by presidential aide Vladimir Medinsky.
