Large families in Russia will soon be able to receive a unified child benefit even if their income slightly exceeds the legally established maximum level, according to amendments prepared by the government.

Under the new rules, when re-applying for the unified benefit, the income of large families may exceed one subsistence minimum by up to 10%. In such cases, the payment will be extended for another 12 months at half the subsistence minimum. The exact amount of the payment will depend on the region.

Earlier, during a direct line with President Vladimir Putin, he noted a request to allow large families to retain the right to receive the unified benefit even if their income slightly exceeds the eligibility criteria. He then tasked the government with preparing the necessary legislative changes.
