Russian Data Breaches Surge 50% Over Past Year

In 2025, 230 new public data breaches of Russian companies were recorded, compromising 767 million records containing data of Russian users, which is 1.5 times higher than the previous year, according to Threat Intelligence analysts, as reported by Kommersant.

The four largest breaches in terms of the number of compromised records in 2025 were state services, whose names were not disclosed. These breaches accounted for approximately 600 million records with user data.
