The Russian Government Increased Social Benefits, Grants, and Compensation Starting February 1 Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed a decree (постановление) raising various social benefits, grants, and compensations by 5.6% as of February 1. The adjustments will affect 40 different monthly financial benefits, including payments to WWII veterans and combatants, Chernobyl victims, Heroes of Russia and Labor, individuals with disabilities in all three categories, and families with children. The one-time baby bonus will rise nearly to 28,500 rubles, while payments to mothers recognized as heroes will increase to 76,500 rubles. The amount of the first child’s maternity capital will nearly reach 729,000 rubles, while for the second and subsequent children it will be raised to 963,200 rubles.
