The Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant has sufficient technical capacity to potentially supply electricity to energy-intensive facilities, including mining farms and data centers, TASS reported, citing Yevgenia Yashina, the Communications Director of ZNPP.
According to her, the installed capacity of the station allows it to simultaneously meet the needs of the regional population, large industrial enterprises, and ensure the safety of the facility itself.
Yevgenia Yashina emphasized that any discussions about resuming generation and commercial use of electricity are purely theoretical in nature. The main condition for launching the station remains the establishment of reliable safety guarantees for the nuclear facility.
On December 25, the head of state corporation Rosatom, Alexei Likhachev, stated that the company is ready for international cooperation in the field of electricity supply from the Zaporizhzhia NPP to large consumers. Among the possible directions, he named data centers, mining farms, and processing enterprises. Likhachev noted that through the International Atomic Energy Agency and other international channels, signals of interest from the United States and several partners in cooperation regarding future electricity supplies after the launch of ZNPP are being received.
