The Russian government will allocate additional funding to regions to compensate for expenses related to paying for utilities ( ЖКХ ) for socially vulnerable categories of citizens. The total amount exceeds 2.8 billion rubles.
The funds are intended to reimburse 43 subjects where an additional need for funding this benefit was identified. Regions receive compensation from the federal budget for providing social support measures.
Those eligible for compensation up to 50% of the cost of utilities include veterans of labor and combat actions, people with disabilities of all groups, and citizens affected by radiation or техногенных disasters.
Taking into account the new tranche, the total amount of federal funds allocated this year for reimbursing regions for these compensation expenses will exceed 123 billion rubles.
