Extension of Parallel Import Mechanism Delayed until 2026

Deputies of the State Duma have adopted the bill in the second and third final readings, which extends the operation of the parallel import mechanism until 2026. This mechanism was introduced in Russia in May 2022 in response to unfriendly actions by certain countries and organizations. It allows the import of goods into the country without the permission of the copyright holder, owner of the trademark or brand. Extending the operation of the mechanism until 2026 will help to minimize the shortage of critically important goods, ensure the stability of the consumer market and support the functioning of key industrial sectors.
