FAS has adjusted the previously established tariff corridors for electricity in 2026. The reason for the update in tariffs is the increase in the value-added tax (VAT). - The adjustment is due to the increase in VAT from 20% to 22%, which will lead to a slight increase in the cost of electricity as early as January, as stated in the draft resolution of the agency, presented for public discussion. It is noted that the adjustment of tariffs will be made without fully accounting for the increase in the basic VAT rate, but only by 1.7%. Thus, the maximum tariff in Moscow will increase from 7.87 rubles to 8 rubles per kilowatt-hour, in St. Petersburg from 6.97 rubles to 7.08 rubles. For residents of the Moscow region, the payment will increase to 8.38 rubles per kilowatt-hour, in the Leningrad region - to 6.7 rubles. In the Irkutsk region, where the lowest tariffs are set, electricity prices will rise to 1.80 rubles. It was previously planned that the increase in electricity tariffs in 2026 would only occur in October. Thus, the overall increase in tariffs for 2026 will amount to 11.3%. By the end of 2026, the highest electricity tariffs will be in Chukotka (12.84 rubles), while the lowest will be in the Irkutsk region (2 rubles). Relatively low tariffs will be set in the new Russian regions.
