In January-October 2025, auto loans in Russia amounted to a total of 1,228.1 billion rubles, which is 37.6% lower than the same period of the previous year, according to data from the National Bureau of Credit Histories (NБКИ), reported by TASS.
The largest volume of auto loans issued during this period was recorded in Moscow (113.5 billion rubles), Moscow Region (99.9 billion rubles), St. Petersburg (68.5 billion rubles), Tatarstan (60.8 billion rubles), and Krasnodar Territory (60.4 billion rubles).
The most significant decline in the volume of auto loans issued was observed in Rostov Region (-45%), Moscow Region (-42.9%), Moscow (-41.9%), Chelyabinsk Region (-41.7%), and St. Petersburg (-41.3%).
Experts attribute the decrease in loan issuance to an increase in market interest rates and changes in the calculation of the scrap collection fee.
