Private taxi drivers may be allowed to work with non-localized personal vehicles within established regional quotas. The government has supported the corresponding bill, RBC reports, citing sources familiar with the decision.

For this category of drivers, a quota of at least 25% of the total number of vehicles registered in the taxi registry in a particular region is proposed.

The main conditions for obtaining the quota will be: the vehicle is owned by the owner for more than six months, and the owner uses the car as a taxi without involving third parties.

The volume of quotas will be reviewed annually by the Ministry of Transport.

If the bill is adopted, the measure will be in effect until January 1, 2033.
