Annual inflation in Russia slows down to 6.92%

During the past week (from November 18 to 24), annual inflation reached 6.92%, down from 7.12% the previous week, according to the Ministry of Economic Development.
In its weekly review of the current price situation, the ministry reported that food prices increased by 0.16%, including a rise of 1.29% for fruits and vegetables, and 0.06% for other food products. Prices continued to grow, albeit at a slower pace, for cucumbers (+5.1%), tomatoes (+1.2%), potatoes (+0.9%), and bananas (+0.3%). Meanwhile, prices dropped for lamb (-1.9%), sugar (-0.5%), cheese (-0.4%), poultry (-0.3%), eggs (-0.2%), pork (-0.1%), pasta and cereals (-0.1%).
For non-food items, the rate of price growth was 0.08%. Prices continued to fall for building materials (-0.04%) and gasoline (-0.26% week-on-week). The pace of price growth slowed for footwear (+0.2%), clothing (+0.1%), diesel fuel (+0.52%), and medicines (+0.1%).
In the sector of monitored services, prices grew by 0.16%.
