In Russia, by the end of the third quarter of 2025, the number of Individual Investment Accounts (IIS) increased to 6.3 million (+72 thousand), and the net inflow of funds into them reached 59 billion rubles, which is the maximum since the beginning of the year. These data were announced by the Central Bank of Russia.
The growth of IIS portfolios was ensured by increased client contributions and positive revaluation of Russian bonds. The volume of assets on accounts increased by 11% compared to the previous quarter, and by 44% year-on-year, reaching 753 billion rubles. The average size of a brokerage IIS increased to 116 thousand rubles (from 105 thousand rubles), and in the trust management segment, it reached 227 thousand rubles.
During the reporting period, brokers opened nearly 174 thousand IIS, while closing 88 thousand. In the trust management segment, almost 1 thousand accounts were opened, and about 11 thousand were closed.
The Central Bank explained the increased interest in IIS by the decrease in the profitability of alternative instruments, including bank deposits. In the third quarter, following the reduction of the key rate, the maximum interest rate on ruble deposits in the largest Russian banks decreased from 18.3% to 15.6% per annum.
It was noted that investors were more actively increasing their investments in bonds, demonstrating a decrease in interest in stocks.
