The main version of the cause of the Ka-226 helicopter crash in Dagestan is pilot error, according to a statement from the press service of the Western Interregional Investigative Directorate on Transport of the Russian Investigative Committee. - The flight data recorder (black box) of the aircraft, seized during the inspection of the crash site, has been handed over to the Interstate Aviation Committee (IAC). Preliminary information from the decoding shows no technical malfunctions of the helicopter, therefore, the version of pilot error is considered a priority, - it is stated in the official message of the department. On November 7, 2025, a civilian Ka-226 helicopter flying from Kizlyar to Izberbash crashed in the area of Achisu village in the Republic of Dagestan, near the "Solnechny Bereg" recreation base. The helicopter carried a pilot and six passengers. As a result of the crash, five people died, one is in intensive care, and the condition of another victim has stabilized. Initially, the cause of the crash was reported to be a technical malfunction.
