Russian diamond exports to India more than doubled in August, reaching record levels since April, according to data from the Indian Ministry of Commerce and Industry, as reported by RIA Novosti.

In August, diamonds worth $31.3 million were imported to India. A year earlier, this figure stood at $13.4 million. These results were the highest since April, when diamond imports were valued at $92.5 million.

However, the source notes that since the beginning of the year, diamond purchases have decreased by almost 40%, to just over $342 million.
