Government Approves New Scrap Collection Regulations

The government today, November 1, approved a decree on new rules for the disposal fee, which will come into force on December 1.

According to the 18-page decree, additional parameters are being introduced into the disposal fee calculations. The base rate will now be formed depending on the type and volume of the engine, while the coefficient on a progressive scale will depend on its power.

For importing cars for personal use, citizens will retain preferential disposal fee coefficients, i.e., 3,400 rubles for a new car and 5,200 rubles for a car older than 3 years.

It is worth noting that initially, the authorities planned to introduce the new rules from November 1, 2025, but the date was decided to be postponed.
