Russia is experiencing a rise in hidden unemployment, reports RBC, citing data from the Ministry of Labor. It turns out that by the end of October this year, 254,000 employees were offered to switch to part-time work, idleness, or leave their jobs altogether. Back in July, there were only 165,000 such employees.

Thus, the greatest increase is observed in the number of employees who have been transferred to part-time work. This number has increased 2.6 times – from 51,900 to 133,300 people. This trend is most pronounced in the Samara, Yaroslavl, and Nizhny Novgorod regions, as well as in Tatarstan and Bashkortostan.

At the end of October, the number of workers in idleness reached 36,300 people, or 18.9% of the total number of employees at companies using this mode. The highest number of idle workers is found in the Kursk, Belgorod, Rostov, and Bryansk regions, as well as in Chuvashia.

As of October 22, 85,300 Russians were offered to leave their jobs. This accounts for 33.3% of the average number of employees in organizations that announced plans to reduce staff, although three months earlier, the share of such employees was 20.4%, or 73,600 people. The largest number of employees were dismissed in the Yaroslavl and Irkutsk regions, Krasnoyarsk Territory, Moscow, and St. Petersburg.
