New rules for calculating the environmental recycling fee will not significantly affect the prices of Russian-made cars. Subsidies to domestic car manufacturers help keep prices under control. This was stated by Russian First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov in an interview with RIA Novosti.

Earlier, it was reported that Russia plans to defer the new rules on recycling fees for imported cars. They may come into effect on December 1 instead of November 1 of this year. The decision to revise the timetable for introducing the recycling fee was prompted by the fact that citizens could have already ordered and paid for cars with engine power exceeding 160 hp after the publication of the draft regulatory act with new parameters.

The recycling fee is a tax paid by manufacturers and importers for each vehicle produced or imported into Russia.

In the case of domestic cars, their recycling fee is compensated by the state, with the amount of compensation depending on the level of production localization.
