Ex-deputy chairman of the government of the Ulyanovsk region Pushkarev was detained for abuse of office

Security forces detained Vladimir Pushkarev, former deputy chairman of the government of the Ulyanovsk region, in Moscow. This follows from the message of the press service of the regional Investigative Committee.

Pushkarev is suspected of abuse of office, and a criminal case has been opened.

According to law enforcement officials, in 2024-2025, Pushkarev, using his official position, "ensured the victory of his affiliated commercial organization in an auction" for the reconstruction of sewage treatment plants. They were also given illegal instructions to increase the amount of the advance, and other terms of the contract were changed in favor of the contractor.

Pushkarev left the post in September 2025.
