Over 500 million rubles were stolen from the Ministry of Defense during the execution of the state contract.

A criminal case has been opened on the fact of fraud on an especially large scale in the execution of a state contract. The defendants in the case were Nikolai Laptev, former chief engineer of the branch of the Military Construction Company Southern Military District, Vladimir Kuranov, General Director of Interarm LLC, and Vilen Dallari, his deputy, as well as employees of NEST LLC.

According to the investigation, in 2022, the state customer and commercial organizations signed a contract for the supply of pipeline system equipment. Kuranov and Dallari were to supply the equipment, Laptev supervised the execution of the contract.

However, in 2023 Laptev, Kuranov, Dallari and officials of NEST LLC supplied equipment that did not comply with the terms of the contract, as a result of which more than 500 million rubles were stolen. The terms of the contract were violated, and the Ministry of Defense suffered particularly heavy damage.

«Military investigators of the Investigative Committee of Russia are conducting investigative actions aimed at collecting evidence," the press service of the Investigative Committee of Russia concluded.
