Engine failures in Geely cars in Russia occur due to the gasoline used. This reason was voiced by the Chinese automaker Geely Motors, reports "Base" with reference to representatives of the company.

According to the Database, owners of Tugella and Coolray models have experienced engine failure due to gasoline.

The company noted that their cars are not adapted to the use of different fuel quality, which is used by Russian car owners. Despite the fact that although Russian fuel meets GOST standards, Geely claims that the concentration of substances (appearing as a by-product of oil refining) in it is higher than in the fuel used in China.

In this regard, the company plans to update the engine control software to improve the engine detonation protection system. The corresponding work is already underway on the Geely Monjaro model.
