A law has been signed prohibiting the automatic withdrawal of funds for online subscriptions from cards deleted from personal accounts

Online services will no longer be able to automatically debit user funds for subscriptions from bank cards that have been deleted from personal accounts. The corresponding decree was signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The law will take effect on March 1, 2026.

The adoption of the law was preceded by numerous complaints from citizens about online services: automatic renewal of subscriptions, withdrawal of funds without notification, difficulties in refusing services. The State Duma adopted the relevant bill in the first reading in September 2024.
