Russia and Turkmenistan have outlined ways of further economic cooperation

Representatives of Russia and Turkmenistan held a meeting of the intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation in Ashgabat. Russia was represented by Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin. This is reported by the press service of the Government of the Russian Federation.

During the meeting, it was noted that since the beginning of the year, the trade turnover between the two countries has grown by more than 30%. Currently, the dynamics of rail, road and air transportation is increasing. The parties discussed further development of the transport infrastructure, in particular the development of the international transport corridor "North" South".

Agreements on technological and marketing cooperation between the St. Petersburg and Turkmen Commodity Exchanges were also signed. The customs services of the two countries have agreed to organize a simplified procedure for customs operations during the movement of goods and transport services.

In addition, during his working trip to Turkmenistan, Marat Khusnullin met with President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to discuss prospects for cooperation in key sectors and identify ways for further cooperation.
