The Russian government has imposed sanctions on Renault

On October 10, the Government of the Russian Federation included the French carmaker Renault in the list of organizations working in the field of the military-technical complex, against which restrictive measures are being introduced. The corresponding the document has been published on the official portal of legal information.

This decision was made in the light of the presidential decree of 2022 "On the application of retaliatory special economic measures." The Cabinet of Ministers forms two types of lists: a general list of organizations with restrictions and a separate list of defense industry enterprises in unfriendly countries.

Since the publication of the decree, all government agencies, commercial structures and individuals in Russia have been deprived of the opportunity to conclude any agreements with Renault and its subsidiaries, including foreign trade operations. Additionally, the document removes obligations from the counterparties of the French concern to fulfill financial and contractual conditions in relation to the French company.
