In Russia, about 20 million Russians use cryptocurrency, and therefore it is necessary to create the necessary infrastructure to protect citizens. This opinion was voiced by the Deputy Minister of Finance of the Russian Federation Ivan Chebeskov during a speech at the forum "Finopolis-2025".

- Our position remains unchanged. It consists in the fact that we recognize that the crypt exists. It definitely took a while. We have millions of citizens, according to some estimates, this is 20 million citizens who use cryptocurrency for one purpose or another. If they use it, we need our own infrastructure to protect citizens and gain economic and technological benefits," TASS quoted Chebeskov as saying.

As of the end of March 2025, according to the Central Bank, the balances of Russians in the wallets of crypto exchanges amounted to 827 billion rubles, which is 27% higher than the same period last year. Most of the balances were in bitcoin (62.1%), ether (22%), USDT and USDC stablecoins (15.9%).
