The Bank of Russia will soon become a participant in the testing of the digital ruble. The head of the Central Bank, Elvira Nabiullina, as well as other employees of the regulator plan to join the testing and receive a salary in digital rubles. This became known during the ongoing forum "Finopolis-2025".

"We expect that the Bank of Russia will become a participant in the near future, and our employees will be able to voluntarily join this pilot," the head of the regulator said, noting that she herself plans to take part in testing the digital ruble.

She also stressed that later, when the digital ruble will be used on a par with cash and non-cash payments, Russians will be able to choose how to receive their salaries.

Also, according to Nabiullina, the Central Bank is working on the integration of the digital ruble with other countries.

- Such work is underway. Indeed, we do not give specifics here, because a lot depends not only on technological readiness. We are technologically ready for this, but the technological readiness of the relevant country and willingness to cooperate with us on this project. Such work is naturally underway," the head of the regulator said.
