Baza: Prices for Russian winter tires have increased by a quarter

Winter tire prices have increased in Russia and will continue to rise. The Baza TV channel asked the sellers and found out that Russian tires have already risen in price by 25%, and foreign brands (Yokohama, Pirelli, Ikon, etc.) now cost 30% more than a year earlier. Motorists have to choose Chinese goods, which are cheaper.

At the same time, sellers note, the situation will not improve in the near future, prices will rise at least until the middle of 2026.

There are quite objective reasons for this trend. According to the source, tires are becoming more expensive due to rains in Southeast Asia, which is why the harvest of natural rubber there was small last year, and prices for it immediately soared by 35%. Another reason is that oil prices have risen, and attacks are becoming more frequent at refineries, so the situation with synthetic rubber from petrochemicals is no better.

The Ministry of Transport adds that Russians need to change their shoes before December 1 or when the temperature will be 5-7 degrees above zero. It is estimated that the average cost of a set of tires for a passenger car will cost a driver 27,700 rubles, an increase of 30.2%. Truck tires in the amount of six pieces cost from 32 thousand to 37,800 rubles, prices jumped by 17.8%.
