
The business asked the government to ease the requirements for localization of cars for taxis

Representatives of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RSPP) appealed to Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin with a request to amend the adopted law on the localization of cars for taxis. The RBC.
In particular, the business union proposes to expand the criteria for the admission of vehicles to work in the field of passenger transportation and allow the use of all models of cars from manufacturers operating in the Russian Federation and having signed relevant localization agreements.
It is also proposed to introduce a delay in the application of new requirements for individuals working in taxis with personal cars, as well as to maintain their status in the taxi registry upon re-registration in any regional registries, upon change of ownership or completion of the lease agreement.
According to the authors of the proposals, these measures will help mitigate the transition period and minimize the negative consequences for participants in the taxi and carsharing market.
- Earlier, the Ministry of Industry and Trade announced a preliminary list of 20 car models that comply with the localization law and can be used in the taxi industry.
