Remote sale of domestic wine using biometrics may start in Russia next year. And all alcohol and cigarettes will be available to buy online in 2027. This was stated by Vladislav Svjatik, Deputy General Director of the Center for Biometric Technologies, at the E-Commerce and Retail Forum.

From the quote quoted by TASS, Svyatin stated that this experiment is already beginning with the remote sale of energy companies. Then they will switch to Russian wine, which will be sold online in the second quarter of 2026. And in the fourth quarter of 2027, an online sale is planned without any restrictions on the rest of alcohol and cigarettes.
